We collect information from you in various ways when you use our website. When you create a Linkfire user account you will provide information that can be directly associated with you, such as your Linkfire username and email address. By creating a Linkfire user account, you acknowledge that this personal information may be used by us for the purpose of provision of the Services.
An important feature of the Services is its ability to create shortened URLs. Therefore Linkfire collects and stores both the original and shortened URLs in order to associate the information with your user account. Linkfire also collects and stores the time and date on which your user account creates new links. The URL information and the information about time and dates are used solely for the purpose of provision of the Services.
Another important feature of the Services is to provide metrics and performance statistics to the users relating to the market effect of their individual use of the Services. Linkfire uses metrics and statistics data to generate statistical analyses about the URLs created by our registered users when using the Services. The information contained in the statistical analyses includes information regarding the geographical origin of the clicks on the URLs created by our registered users (i.e. country, state, city) derived from the IP address, information regarding the referring websites or services, information regarding the time and date of the clicks on the URLs and information regarding any additional sharing of the URLs on third party websites.
In addition, the metrics data and performance statistics are used by Linkfire to improve our website and the Services and to conduct market research.
Linkfire does not collect and process any metrics information that can be associated directly with you other than your IP address. Linkfire does not transfer information about your IP address to any third party, including, but not limited to, our registered users. The transfer of metrics and performance statistics to our registered users is based entirely on aggregated data and thus cannot be associated directly with you.
Some of Linkfire's features allow you to access the Service by using your login information created for third party services such as Facebook, Twitter and Google. If you choose to access to the Service through third party services, Linkfire will collect information related to your use of those third party services, such as authentication tokens that allow us to connect to the third party service accounts. We also collect information about how you use the Service to interact with connected third party services. Linkfire uses this information to improve our website and the Services and to conduct market research.
Linkfire automatically receives and records information from your web browser when you interact with the Services. This information includes your IP address and cookie information (as described above). The information is used to improve the functionality of the Services, e.g. to help us understand how our users access our website, to help us fight spam and malware, to facilitate our collection of data regarding our users' interaction with the Services and the referring websites (as described above) and for other similar improvements to the functionality of our Services.
Linkfire collects statistical information regarding the use of the Service by our registered and unregistered users. Part of the information used to create the statistics is derived from personal information, such as your IP address, which is considered personal information, which tells us where you are located geographically (as described above). All of the statistics we create are based entirely on aggregated data and thus cannot be associated directly with you.
As part of the Services, you may occasionally receive an email or other communication relating to your Linkfire user account. These emails will only be forwarded for purposes important to the Services, such as password recovery or other important information regarding your use of the Service.
The information provided by you when creating a Linkfire user account will in some instances be displayed to other users of the Services in order to facilitate the user interaction within the Service. The displayed information includes your Linkfire username, your Twitter account name, your Facebook name (to the extent that you have accessed your Linkfire account by way of third party services) and any other information you voluntarily add to your Linkfire user account. Please note, that this information will only be displayed within your closed user group, i.e. Linkfire users outside your user group will not be able to see your user account information.
Credit card information is only used to collect payment from you, and we do not store your credit card information on our own servers. We use secure third party service providers to manage your credit card payments. These third party service providers are not permitted to retain, store or use the payment information you provide for any other purpose than the processing of your credit card information on our behalf.
The service providers used by Linkfire are all PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliant and use HTTPS encryption algorithms to ensure that your payment information is processed securely. Our service providers and their partners all meet PCI compliance level 1, which is the highest level of PCI compliance.
Linkfire only transfers aggregated and statistical data to third parties, and therefore the data transferred by Linkfire cannot be associated directly with you by any third party save for the data that you choose to display on third party websites such as Facebook and Twitter derived from your Linkfire user account.
The security, integrity and confidentiality of your information are extremely important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use and modification. However, you also have an important role to play regarding the protection of your information. Therefore, it is very important that you, when you create your Linkfire user account, choose a password that is not easy for others to guess and that you do not share your passwords with anyone.
Linkfire continuously reviews its security measures to consider appropriate new technologies and methods to protect your information.
